- A $1000 bond is payable when students start at Springbank. This is fully refundable at the end of your child’s schooling.
International Students - A non-refundable application fee of $200.00 is payable with the enrolment application

- Homestay (if applicable) $220 per week

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Our senior students sit the CIE examinations, beginning with IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) at Year 11 level. We are delighted with last year’s IGCSE results. Alexandra Bird was awarded the top mark in New Zealand for ICT (Computer Studies). The Year 11 class of students of varying ability all sat these IGCSE exams, and out of 103 papers examined they achieved passes in 100 papers – a pass rate of 97%. 16% of papers were A* (90%-100%) 39% of papers were A-A* (80%-100%) 85% of papers were C-A (60%-100%) New Zealand Awards Our students consistently achieve amongst the top 1% of New Zealand students in the international ICAS Mathematics, Science, English and Computer Studies competitions. Enterprise and Entrepreneurship - Northland trophy for the Most Outstanding Enterprise School of the Year 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009.

- National finalists for the Young Enterprise Scheme for three years. Gained 2nd and 4th in New Zealand out of over 250 secondary schools, with one team winning a trip to Singapore to study business first hand.

- In 2002 with the guidance of two mentors, three entrepreneurial senior girls bought a section, built and sold a house in a prestigious Kerikeri subdivision.

Science - Top student in Northland-winner of the Science and Technology Fair. NIWA award at the National Science and Technology Fair.
Music - A comprehensive core Music programme is taught throughout the school and specialist music teachers provide small group and individual tuition for a range of musical instruments. Students take part in interschool choir-based musical events and school musicals.
Performing Arts and Communication - Our students excel in effective communication, with debating, formal speech competitions, drama and musical productions.
- Students continue to be successful at the Northland Performing Arts Festival, with trophies and awards in singing, drama, mime, choral speaking, prepared speech, dance and piano.
- Drama is a taught subject, with Junior School and Middle/Senior School Drama productions a highlight.
Art - We teach a comprehensive and exciting Visual Art programme throughout the school, with specialist Art & Design teaching in the senior school. Students work in a variety of media including paint, pastel, charcoal and sculpture. We have an annual art exhibition and we display students’ work in interschool and community exhibitions.
Maths - Top student in New Zealand several times in the challenging National Bank Problem Solving Mathematics competition.
- Perfect scores in the Otago University Mathematics Problem- Solving Competition, and Certificates of Excellence.
- Consistently top placings each year in the Northland MATHEX competition (problem-solving Mathematics).
Sport - Our Physical Education and Fitness programmes are a high- profile component. We believe that physical fitness is a vital part of every person’s life. Our students are introduced to a multitude of sporting experiences where the emphasis is on enjoyment, team-work and skill building.
- Students represent the school in many sporting codes including netball, soccer, cross country, swimming, hockey, touch rugby, basketball, badminton, tennis, triathlon, sailing, equestrian, surfing and athletics.
- Several students have been Northland representatives in sports such as athletics, hockey, rugby, swimming and equestrian.
- Our Athletic Academy has produced some outstanding individuals. Several students represent Northland each year at the NZ Track and Field Champs. Students have been placed 4th in N.Z. for javelin; and 3rd and 5th in New Zealand for pole-vault.
- We were Northland’s only medal winner in the 2004 and 2007 National Secondary Schools Track and Field championships.
