Leaving the security of home or preschool and moving on to begin primary school is a big step. At Springbank, your child will be cared for and nurtured from their very first day at school.
Springbank’s Junior School programme for Year 1-6 students are taught by outstanding, experienced, and inspiring teachers at every age level. They have a home teacher, and they are supported with specialised teaching in a range of subjects such as physical education, science, enterprise studies, and the arts.
Our Junior School has a strong academic emphasis on reading, oral and written language, and mathematical fluency. Children are taught essential information technology skills from the time they first start school. Further subjects such as social studies, thinking skills and language strengthen their overall academic foundation.
Students are benchmarked against clear curriculum expectations. Primary Progressive Tests are given at the end of Years 4 - 6 to measure progress and achievement. Year 6 students have the opportunity to sit the Cambridge International Primary Checkpoint Examinations in English, mathematics and science, which are externally marked by Cambridge International. The majority of Year 6 students score well above the international average, with many achieving excellence.
